WB Games Montréal has been working on what has been confirmed to be a DC Comics-based video game for a long while now. They've been cryptically teasing said game since September 2019 at the very least — as you can see here. E3 2020 would have taken place this week if it had not been canceled earlier this year on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to reputable journalist Jason Schreier, WB Games would have held their very own press conference at E3 this year wherein they would have revealed such games as the long-rumored Harry Potter RPG, what Rocksteady has been working on, other things, but most notably WB Games Montréal's Batman game.
According to Danish site Gamereactor.dk, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment would have teased the Batman game in the lead-up to E3 wherein the game would have been revealed. Now that isn't happening, they're planning to reveal the game in summer. That is to say, very soon.
What's more, it's said that it's unlikely anything will get in the way of that since the Batman game is set to "release sooner than you may think." This lines up with speculation that the Batman game will be a launch title for the next-generation — which begins Holiday 2020 with the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Perhaps we should expect to see WB Games Montréal's Batman game at the PlayStation 5 reveal event tomorrow — more on that here.
