PlayStation fans have probably been biting their nails waiting for Sony to finally unveil their highly anticipated next-gen console. The PlayStation 5 has been teased by the developer for quite a while, and all players have gotten is one look at the console's new controler: the DualSense.

Late in May of this year, and after being rumoured for a while, Sony finally announced that a special presentation that would focus solely on video games coming to the PlayStation 5 would be streamed on Thursday the 4th of June; due to the protests in the United States, Sony decided to indefinitely postpone the event.

Today Sony has announced that the special, and indefinitely postponed PlayStation 5 presentation will finally be taking place this Thursday the 11th of June at 1:00 PM Pacific Time / 9:00 PM British Summer Time; promising, once again, to give players a first look at the future of gaming.

Sony has also revealed that the presentation is a bit over an hour in length, and that it will be streamed in 1080p at 30 frames per second due to some limitations the developers faced working from home. With that said, it is more than likely that some of the games showcased during the presentation will run in 60 frames per second liek most players want.

Earlier in May Unreal gave players a demonstration of what the PlayStation 5 was capable of, and this Thursday we will finally be able to see what Sony has in store for its loyal fanbase. Hopefully we'll also get our first look at the console itself, although the presentation is said to only showcase games, not hardware. Could they finally reveal the PlayStation 5's release date? We'll just have to patiently wait and see.
