It's time to grab the salt, since new information about a long-rumoured role-playing video game based on the popular Harry Potter series have surfaced online, and it goes as far as revealing a tentative release date for it, as well as the game's full name.
This information actually comes from a thread on Reddit, in which user u/notexpectedbut — who claims to work for Warner Bros. marketing — reveals that this Harry Potter game won't even feature the name of the titular character, but the name of the school.
According to the thread, the name of this role-playing Harry Potter game is called Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy, and it will allow players to create an avatar that's been transferred from another wizard school to Hogwarts; where the decisions the player makes while creating the character dictating the house they will be assigned.
This information also reveals that regardless of the house players are assigned to, they will not be able to side with the villain — or even be the villain, for that matter — but that their decisions will matter; good or bad. On the same not, the user reveals that this new game won't be kid friendly, and that the story can take some very dark turns.
What's even more interesting is that this alleged Warner bros marketing employee even reveals that Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy will be launching around June of 2021, and that players should expect a proper announcement trailer at some point before August of this year, as well as some gameplay.
Again, take this news with a pinch of salt. For as long as a new Harry Potter game has been rumoured, this may just be that mysterious game the rumours talked about.
If you're still interested in knowing more about this alleged Hogwarts: A Dark Legacy, be sure to check out the full thread on Reddit, since it is quite lengthy and full of interesting details that will likely catch the attention of Harry Potter fans.
