BATMAN: RETURN TO ARKHAM Has Been Delayed Indefinitely By WB Games

Originally set to be released next month, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has now confirmed that Batman: Return to Arkham has been indefinitely delayed. Why? Hit the jump for details...

When the trailer for Batman: Return to Arkham was released, a lot of fans were understandably excited for the chance to replay remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City on current gen consoles. However, the vast majority ridiculed the footage due to the fact that many scenes looked considerably worse than they did when the games were originally released!

That may very well explain why Return to Arkham has lost its release date then, as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed today that the project has now been indefinitely delayed.

"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans."

The remaster looked so shoddy in places that it's easy to understand why WB Games has reached this decision, and it wouldn't be too surprising to see it shelved for good, especially now it no longer has a release date. They certainly waited until a fairly late stage before dropping that release date anyway, so it's going to be interesting to see what sort of updates we get on Return to Arkham moving forward.
