NC America opened AION 2 Early Access on Steam and PURPLE, the company's own launcher. Anyone who bought a Founder's Pack gets the full game five days before the official launch on Monday, October 5. Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate all qualify. Everyone else waits until the free-to-play servers open.
Early Access is the way for players to get the game in their hands early and play. Everything should be available in Early Access. Wardrobe and transmog are on. PvP is on, including battlegrounds and dimensional rifts. Progress sticks. High-level content is in. The marketplace and the economy are running. Cash-shop cosmetics are in the client. NC America is selling this as the complete AION 2 experience, not a preview build.
The packs have been on sale since July 22. Standard is $24.99. Deluxe is $49.99. Ultimate is $99.99. Every tier includes the Early Access pass and a 30-day membership. NC added that membership in August after player feedback, and it applies to packs bought before the change. One pack per account. You pick a tier once.
Standard is the access ticket: five days in, a Daeva's Campaign Supply Chest, and the "Vanguard of Atreia" title. Deluxe adds the "Ascended Daeva" armor skin and the "Eternal Sun" weapon skin. Ultimate stacks a Daeva's Styling Chest, the "Moonlit Aria" armor skin, a Black Dragon pet, and "Blazing Sun" wings. NC has described the extra looks as appearance items. The membership and the head start are the parts that change when you can play and what the account can do for a month.
AION 2 is free on October 5. The pack is not a box copy. It is a paid line at the door plus a month of membership and a pile of cosmetics that scales with the price. Steam and PURPLE both sell the packs. Cross-play between those two PC clients was part of the launch plan. Regional servers cover North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Steam's listing has carried a 13:00 UTC release stamp for the October 5 open, which is 6 a.m. Pacific and 9 a.m. Eastern.
Flight is the feature NC keeps putting in the first sentence. You are a Daeva. Wings are how you cross the map and how you fight. The publisher says the world is 36 times larger than the original AION, built in Unreal Engine 5, with underwater zones and aerial combat in both PvE and PvP. The Steam page calls the sky a battlefield, not a travel shortcut. That is the pitch the 2008 game lived on, scaled up and sold again.
The original AION launched in Korea in 2008 and in the West in 2009, published then by NC under the old NCSOFT name. Elyos and Asmodians, the Abyss, fortress sieges, and wings that actually mattered in a fight were the whole identity. AION 2 already shipped in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025, on PC, iOS, and Android. The global PC release is the Western and wider-Asian wave, almost a year later.
NC named October 5 at gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. Before that, Steam still said September. Outlets called the move a delay. NC did not. The Founder's Pack window was already locked to September 30, so the open date sliding to October 5 turned a vague head start into a clean five-day block: September 30 through October 4, then the free launch.
NC America, based in Irvine, publishes selected NC games for North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania. The catalog it points at is Blade & Soul, Lineage, AION, and Guild Wars. AION 2 is the one it is calling its premiere MMORPG for this window. The company says it plans to add more NC-developed games and third-party titles later.
