When Gotham Knights was first revealed to the world, we were told the game would be available on all major platforms. Well, after a number of delays caused by the pandemic, Warner Bros. has confirmed that it will only be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means it will no longer be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it arrives in stores on October 25.
The reason given for these last-gen ports being scrapped is to "provide players with the best possible gameplay experience." No further details were given, but we have to assume that the studio can no longer devote the necessary time to creating last-gen versions of Gotham Knights. There have been enough delays, after all, and current consoles and PC should probably be a priority.
In other news, we also have a 13-minute gameplay trailer taking a closer look at Nightwing and Red Hood. We learn more about what it will be like to take control of them, as well as the sort of open-world activities we can expect. Hopefully, a new look at Batgirl and Robin will be shared in due course, though it doesn't sound as if more from Gotham Knights will be shared until Summer Game Fest.
