According to a ResetEra user, Devil May Cry is set and ready to return. Say goodbye to the "new" Dante from DMC and get ready to welcome the old cast, the series' father, mechanics and everything you loved about the series before it went full "emo". Of course, ahead of reading the rumors summary, be sure to remember that it's just a rumor. Don't forget about a grain of salt.
Devil May Cry V (the game will follow Metal Gear Solid V, no "5" this time) is a secret project of Hideaki Itsuno and will be a sequel to Devil May Cry 4. The game is slated to release in the fiscal calendar year of 2019, ebtween April 2018 and march 2019. The game was slated to debut at PSX, but Sony decided to scale things down after their E3 conference, so the game won't be announced in 2017, but it will definitely receive a demo before the release.
DMC V has been in development for over two years and the production is progressing without any major problems, so the potential delays will be definitely unexpected. The owners of Playstation 4 should be happy, because some form of exclusivity is involved. It could be a complete PS4 exclusivity, console or time exclusive.
1 minute 50 seconds long trailer is ready and it's apparently focused on story and characters. The action is set in a city similar to Fortuna from DMC4. The leak describes the project as "ambitious" with the longest cutscene runtime of any DMC game yet directed by Yuji Shimimura, the director of Bayonetta's cutscenes. All the voice actors are set to return, involving Rueben Longdon, Johnny Bosh and Dan Southworths, the voices of Dante, Nero and Vergil.
The story will pick up where Devil May Cry 4 left. More than one playable hero will be available, one of them will be the most serious Dante has ever been. The plot will be more personal to him. Vergil is also coming back, but it's unclear how he cheated his death. Trish has a prominent role, and the main characters switch during key story points. The main big bad is "Prince of Darkness" and it might be the end of the sons of Sparda.
The rest is a usual business - 60 frames per second, freaky boss fights, complicated level design, no stamina bar, no QTEs. Some online integration is implemented, but don't expect a competitive multiplayer. The team has previously finished Dragon's Dogma and DMC V is heavily influenced by it.
