Marvel Rivals took its next major step today, launching a Closed Beta Test on consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) and PC (Steam). The test began today, July 23rd at 3:00 p.m. PDT and is scheduled to run until August 5th at 12:00 a.m. PDT. Unlike the previous Closed Alpha Test, this one is also available to more regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia.
Unfortunately, sign-ups for the Closed Beta Test have already ended; however, there's still a chance for you to get a code!
The easiest way is probably to find a friend who already qualified for the Closed Beta Test. When they finish in-game quests, they will receive extra activation codes to share. Upon reaching level 6, players will earn an additional invite code from the in-game event page for a limited time.
Another option is through Twitch Drops. Connect your Twitch account on the Marvel Rivals website and watch livestreams from under the Marvel Rivals category between July 25th through July 28th. Once you watch 60 minutes of an approved stream, you'll gain an exclusive CBT Key to redeem on the website.
The third option is through social media. Partners and influencers are handing out additional codes, as is the official Marvel Rivals social media channels. The official account for Marvel Rivals has 50 Closed Beta Test codes to giveaway, and all you have to do is follow the account and retweet the tweet below. Winners will be announced on July 26th.
As this is a closed beta test, all progress will be wiped before the game's official launch. However, players do have a chance to earn an exclusive Venom costume. By completing Galacta's quests and earning XP, you'll earn a range of rewards, including the Cyan Clash Venom costume.
Announced earlier this year, Marvel Rivals is a super hero team-based shooter featuring characters from across the Marvel Universe. From the Avengers to the Guardians of the Galaxy to the X-Men and more, players will engage in thrilling, fast-paced 6v6 combat across a plethora of maps and modes.
The merciless clash between tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and crises unknown.
Now, Super Heroes and Villains from across the multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups each seek to best both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals!
Marvel Rivals doesn't have a release date yet, though with the game already in a Closed Beta Testing phase, I wouldn't be surprised to see it launch later this year. When it does release, it will be free-to-play on consoles and PC.
