Metal Gear Survive is the first game in the series that's not developed by Hideo Kojima, who's left Konami shortly after the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Survive is being made by Konami Digital Entertainment, but how exactly does the team want to live up to Kojima's legacy?

For a start, the developer revealed that the game will receive a proper single-player campaign after months of rumors. Survive will tell a story set in an alternate reality, where strange and deadly zombie-like beasts actively try to kill the protagonist(s). One of the most important features is crafting, which will give you a chance to upgrade the arsenal of deadly weapons and create new barriers for the defenders. Players' main goal is survival and defending the mother base, the main hub in Survive

If you're still interested in this project, Konami has announced that the open beta is coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One between January 18-21, 2018.
