GamingBolt spoke with Capcom's brand manager Mike Lunn about the possibility of Resident Evil 2 on the Nintendo Switch. There will be a remake of the game for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, so naturally a Switch version could also happen, right?
“No, not at this time. We just wanted to focus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC at the moment.”
Now, sure, Resident Evil 2 is not coming to the Switch but Lunn said "at this time". Maybe the option is still there, it hasn't been deleted. Capcom could always pull something like Resident Evil 7 Cloud for Switch.
Mike Lunn also talked about a first-person view on Resident Evil 2. Since Resident Evil 7 did so well, maybe they thought about doing the same with 2.
“I bet it was tossed around at some point in time, because it’s built on the same engine as RE7 engine. It’s built from the ground up, but I don’t think it was ever top running.” He then noted that, “We have toyed with things like the over the shoulder camera, old school corner camera, but again they went with over the shoulder because it felt right for this product.”
Resident Evil 2 comes out on January 25, 2019 and will be bringing back classic scenes from the original.
