We still have a long way before the highly anticipated
Resident Evil 2 remake hits shelves in February of next year, and news, as well as new trailers for the game keep showing us that Capcom has really made something special.
The original
Resident Evil 2 came out in 1998, becoming one of the best titles in the whole series—even up to this day—which is why the new remake has been so well received. In fact, the new
Resident Evil 2 not only looks great but is also taking the series back to its roots by focusing on the survival aspect of the series rather than it being an action/shooter like later entries.
Resident Evil 2 is still featuring the 2 original campaigns for Claire and Leon, but the game has been said to be a completely new game that borrows elements from the original but doesn't 100% follow the story in the same way; having characters meeting each other in different way and under slightly different circumstances.
Today, Capcom UK has streamed over 20 minutes of new footage taken from a
Resident Evil 2 stream they did earlier. In this Demo for the game, the team plays through Claire Redfield's campaign and show off some of the gameplay inside the iconic Raccoon City Police Department.
Take a look:
The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.
Resident Evil 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 25th of January 2019.
