PlayStation gamers will soon be able to experience Resident Evil 5 for themselves as the intense new two-level demo will be downloadable on the PlayStation Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 on February 2, 2009. Sony fans will be blown away with the new demo that features two in-depth levels from the game- Shanty Town and Assembly Place. With hordes of enemies, two-player co-op action and a new level of intensity that will be sure to have gamers on the edge of their seat, this demo will immerse players in the Resident Evil 5 experience.

On Monday, February 2, gamers will get their first chance to jump in on the two-player co-op action that they have been hearing about. With voice chat and the option to play as either Chris Redfield or Sheva Alomar, this demo will solidify Resident Evil 5 as the must-have game for 2009. With three modes of action- single-player with AI controlled support, split-screen two-player co-op and two-player co-op across PlayStation Network- the demo will give fans an in-depth glimpse into the game a month before it launches on Friday, March 13, 2009.

Known for its terrifying enemies, Resident Evil 5 will not disappoint as the demo will feature an army of weapon-wielding infected Majini, including the gigantic hooded Majini Executioner and even the dreaded Chainsaw Majini. Players can also choose between the classic "Resident Evil"-style controls or switch to the newer “Action” controls inspired by current 3D action games.
