Not long after Resident Evil: The Final Chapter hit home video, Constantin Films, the producer for the Milla Jovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson string of RE films announced that the franchise would be rebooted as a 6-installment franchise shepherded by Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan.

Well, in the recent news that Constantin Films, Jovovich and Anderson would be reteaming on a Monster Hunter adaptation, Constantin CEO Martin Moszkowicz told Variety that the Resident Evil reboot might transform from film franchise to television series.

Moszkowicz stated that the German film production company was "still working on it creatively" before telling Variety that TV was an option also being explored.  "For us, the main thing is to get it right creatively so people don’t think it’s more of the same. That’s what it’s all about these days, a fresh, different approach."
