It's time to grab the salt, as the latest rumour doing the rounds could suggest that Capcom is currently working on yet another Resident Evil project. This rumour — or information, rather — doesn't come from an unnamed source, as it was actually shared by one of the voice actresses that worked on the remake of Resident Evil 2.
Stephanie Panisello, the actress that voices Claire Redfield in the Resident Evil 2 remake, has recently revealed on a podcast that she has worked with some of the actors that worked on the Resident Evil 3 remake, although she stops herself before she says anything she isn't supposed to reveal.
"Also, Resident Evil 3 cast, hello. I know I didn't know you guys personally, although I do feel like I've worked with one of you, but I think it's a project that hasn't come out yet, so I won’t say anything," revealed Panisello.
Panisello does seem to hint at a new Resident Evil project, but it is important to mention that her having worked with one or more members of the cast that worked on Resident Evil 3 remake could mean anything. As far as we are concerned, it could be anything — even a project that isn't related to Capcom, the Resident Evil series, or even video games.
Since Panisello does mention Resident Evil 3, people have assumed that she's specifically talking about another Resident Evil-related project. If that were the case, the sky is pretty much the limit, since this new project could be a new animated movie, a TV series, another game, or all of the above; in the same way that it could be none of the options mentioned.
Again, takes this information with a pinch of salt, but there is another rumour saying that Capcom is currently working on Resident Evil 8, as well as another that claims Resident Evil 4 is getting a remake.
Claire Redfield, Panisello's character, isn't in Resident Evil 4 but could well be one of the main characters in Resident Evil 8 — especially since the latest rumour claims that the unannounced title will be focusing on Claire's brother Chris. We'll just have to wait for an official announcement, but this is still exciting news if true.
