When Insomniac Games was offered to make a game based on any Marvel character they wanted, the developers didn't even give it a second thought and chose Spider-Man—Marvel Comics' most iconic character.
Very early on the developers set out to make the best Spider-Man game ever created, which was no easy task but they managed to pull through and
Marvel's Spider-Man is already being considered the best Spider-Man game ever made.
A couple of weeks ago,
Insomniac Games shared some of the comics that inspired Marvel's Spider-Man. The list went from the iconic Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Amazing Fantasy #15 to Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man, among many others.
Today, Sony has released a new behind the scenes video for
Marvel's Spider-Man that has Creative Director Bryan Intihar, Lead Writer Jon Paquette, Art Director Jacinda Chew, and Marvel Games Executive Director Bill Rosemann comment on the comics they chose for the game, how they managed to do justice to the Spider-Man franchise, and how they wanted to show how fun the character is by making the player be him.
