Some of you may remember the whole "Puddlegate" fiasco from 2018, which claimed that MARVEL's Spider-Man had been graphically downgraded prior to its release. The whole thing happened because there were some puddles that were visible in the E3 demo were missing in the final version of the game. Yes, it is that ridiculous.
Back then, Insomniac Games Community Manager James Stevenson explained that the puddles had been moved, and that the game hadn't been downgraded at all. In fact, it didn't even have antyhing to do with performance; revealing that it was more of an art/design decision.
Those of you who have played the game may have not even noticed that there were puddles missing. The game is actually full of puddles around the city and there are absolutely no performance issues.
What's more, Insomniac Games decided to add even more puddles via the game's Photo Mode, so that players could take some high quality photos with all of those puddles that were missing from the final version of MARVEL's Spider-Man; in-game puddles are no joke.
However, and in case you were one of those who worried that MARVEL's Spider-Man had been downgraded prior to its release, we have some great news, since Insominac Games' James Stevenson has revealed that puddles will be making a return in the recently announced MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Stevenson revealed this after being asked, by KindaFunny's Greg Miller, if MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales would be featuring puddles. Stevenson even goes as far as saying that puddles will now be ray-traced; all in order to meet puddle connoisseurs' high standards.
MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to launch this Holiday exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
