It Looks Like SPLINTER CELL Is Back As Amazon Accidentally Revealed Fourth Echelon's Return Later This Year

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was one of the franchises that let Ubisoft survive the company's first years. Designed in Montreal Splinter Cell was released in 2002 and from that very moment, gamers knew that greatness awaits. Chaos Theory hit the stores three years later and till this day remains the highest-reviewed game in Ubisoft's history, reaching astonishing 94 points for the Xbox version.

Since than, the stealth series has entered an era of drastic changes the fans of Sam Fisher couldn't accept. Ubisoft Toronto's debut project, Blacklist, was released five years ago and partially brought gaming systems that made Splinter Cell good. Last year, we've heard rumors that Michael Ironside (Top Gun, El Maquinista) would return to his iconic role of Sam Fisher. It looks like the gossip was true.

Today Amazon revealed that a video game known as Splinter Cell 2018 exists. It won't be the first (and last) time Amazon has created a placeholder for a game that will be officially revealed later, so there's a chance that Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell will return in their full glory in 2018. A competent single-player mode and a PUBG-like multiplayer mode with mercenaries and spies would be a dream come true.
