In OVERKILL’s
The Walking Dead, players will have a chance to see the fall of humanity from the perspective of Aidan, Maya, Grant and Heather, four ordinary people brought together by necessity and the willingness to do whatever it takes to survive in a zombiefied world. As you can guess, the shooter is strongly inspired by the rich story universe of Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels.
The Walking Dead game was announced back in 2015, and the Starbreeze-OVERKILL team recently shed new light and the cooperative project. The
Payday developer OVERKILL revealed the FPS' release date at E3 2018's PC Gaming Show, and the game's coming November 8th in Europe and November 6th in North America, and you'll be able to pre-order OVERKILL's
TWD on June 12th.
The GamesRadar crew had a chance to check out the game's current build during the expo, and you can watch their previously recorded gameplay down below. Fans of
Rainbow Six: Siege and
Left 4 Dead should definitely keep an eye on
The Walking Dead, and it will be interesting to see if Starbreeze's FPS will manage to survive in a direct confrontation with Saber Interactive's
World War Z.
OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four player co-op action FPS, where you and your friends fight the dead as well as the living. Set in The Walking Dead Universe, you and your group tries to survive in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. Each character has their own Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork is paramount. The action is close-up and intense: take out enemies carefully with silent melee attack or go in guns blazing with your choice of each class firearms. You need to be able to improvise as nothing is certain and a horde of walkers is always right around the corner.
Overkill's The Walking Dead releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 6, 2018.
