Starbreeze and 505 Games have announced plans to host a closed beta for the PC version of Overkill's The Walking Dead, the upcoming four-player co-op multiplayer shooter set in the post-apocalyptic world inspired by Robert Kirkman graphic novel of the same name. The beta will begin October 9, about a month before the game's PC launch.

Those who pre-order the game are guaranteed access to the beta. While the standard edition version will come with a single closed beta invite, the deluxe edition also includes four additional closed beta keys that you will be able to share with friends.

Contents of the beta remain under wraps for now, but additional details will be shared "soon." In the meantime, a new developer livestream hosted by Global Brand Director Almir Listo and Executive Producer Saul Gascon showcases new footage from the Underpass level that was recently previewed at gamescom.

Overkill's The Walking Dead will release for PC on November 6. The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game were recently pushed back to February 2019 in order to "achieve optimal marketing impact and maximize sales."
