Yesterday, a report by
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that
Watch Dogs: Legion (as well as
Gods and Monsters and
Rainbow Six Quarantine) has been delayed.
Watch Dogs: Legion previously held the release date of March 6th, 2020. Now, though, the game will release at some point in the latter half of 2020 or in 2021 — a precise date wasn't revealed.
The upcoming game's delay has now been officially addressed by Ubisoft in a tweet from the official Twitter account of the
Watch Dogs series. The statement makes reference to the
"Play As Anyone" feature that's been at the front and center of the game's trailers.
Similar to the recent delay of The Last of Us Part II, the development team of
Watch Dogs: Legion confirmed that the game has been delayed in order to ensure its quality. You can read the statement for yourself below.
Essentially, to allow the team a comfortable amount of time to make the game as good as it possibly can be. These sentiments are reiterated in most statements that studios release upon their game's delay —
DOOM Eternal, for instance.
Watch Dogs Legion will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC in 2020-2021.
