It is no secret that
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot — Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2's take on the original story by Akira Toriyama — has been a massive success amongst fans of the iconic
Dragon Ball series; giving players the chance to relive Goku's adventures across the Saiyan, Frieza, Cell, and Buu sagas.
As it turns out,
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has actually managed to sell a whopping 1.5 million copies worldwide; information that was revealed by
Bandai Namco during a conference call last week. What's even more impressive is the fact that those numbers amount for the number of copies sold within its first week after launch.
Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have really done a great job with
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, by addressing some complaints by players — and addressing them accordingly, even — and promising that even more content will be added to the game in the near future.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot success is a testament to the manga/anime's insane popularity, just as much as it is the perfect homage to Akira Toriyama's iconic
Dragon Ball series — and players supporting the game in the way that they have will likely give the developers even more reasons to keep adding content. Regardless, this is great news for both fans and the developers.
