For those of us who grew up in the 80s, Sega's Streets of Rage series was our bread and butter. Sadly, the series was left in the dark after Streets of Rage 3 was released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis all the way back in 1994; that is, until now.
To the surprise of long-time fans of the series, Streets of Rage 4 was announced in August of 2018, and now we're only a bit over a week away from the game finally becoming available for pretty much every gaming platform; with a brand-new hand-drawn art style and the same classic beat 'em up action the series is known for.
Streets of Rage 4 will release on Thursday the 30th of April, and developer Dotemu has already revealed that the game will be getting a day one update that aims to improve the game's combo system, fix some bugs, and polish its music and sound design.
According to the Nitnendo Switch eShop, the game's file size is around 3.1 GB, although it probably doesn't include the day one update for Streets of Rage 4 — which has been revealed to be around 1GB in size. With that said, those who purchase the digital copy of Streets of Rage 4 will automatically get this update when they download the game.
Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.
Streets of Rage 4 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam) on the 30th of April.
