The Journey Down is a trilogy of point-and-click adventure games developed and published by Swedish developer Skygoblin. The games were also released for iOS, and an Android version is said to be in development, and the PlayStation 4 recently got all three games in the form of
The Journey Down Trilogy.
The first game in the series, titled
Over the Edge, was released on Steam in 2010.
The Journey Down Chapter One is actually a revision of
Over the Edge, which improves the game's graphics, and adds other things that make it a better experience. In regards to the graphics, the games also feature a very particular art style that reminds us of that seen in Lucas Arts'
Grim Fandango—which also seems to have inspired the game's gameplay.
PlayStation has recently shared a new gameplay trailer for the first episode in the trilogy,
The Journey Down: Chapter One, which shows off the game's beautiful art style, and some Afro-Caribbean music that sets the overall tone of the series.
The Journey Down Trilogy features hand-painted environments, a fully voiced cast, HD art and animations, and subtitles in English and German.
