With just a few days until the start of the Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced the release date for the highly anticipated action role-playing game. As previous rumors indicated, the game will be released on May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with multiple editions available for pre-order.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is a multiplayer co-op action survival game set in the Elden Ring universe. The game challenges players to survive a harsh, unforgiving world over a three day-and-night cycle.
Described as a "condensed action RPG," each gameplay session lasts anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how successful you are in overcoming your challenges. Players can team up in squads of three or go solo in their attempt to outlast the cycle. The gameplay description reads:
Players must make split-second decisions about combat and exploration across a map that can fluctuate with different biomes, weapons, and enemies in order to become stronger, and outrun the encroaching circle of fire to be able to take on terrifying bosses at the end of each day. This culminates on the third day, where if players were successful in surviving the night must take on one of the Nightlords – new bosses for this version.
Elden Ring: Nightreign features eight unique classes (Nightfarers), each with different abilities. Cooperation is key to overcoming these challenges as the Nightfares must combine their abilities and work together to successfully completing each run. However, even if unsuccessful in your attempt, each run grants relics that allow you to customize and upgrade your characters, tailoring them to your playstyle.
Now that Elden Ring: Nightreign's release date has been announced, Bandai Namco has also shared pre-order information. There are three Editions of the game currently available for pre-order on digital platforms and most major retailers.
The Standard Edition is priced at just $39.99, well below the current $69.99 market rate for new games. This includes the base game only. Bandai Namco noted that physical versions of the Standard Edition are only available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Seris X|S.
The Deluxe Edition, available as physical or digital, is priced at $54.99 and includes the Standard Edition, a Digital Artbook, Digital Soundtrack, and DLC code. FromSoftware hasn't revealed the DLC, but it will probably include more bosses and possibly additional playable classes.
The Collector's Edition, available as physical, is priced at $199.99. This comes with all of the Deluxe Edition contents plus a Steelbook, Hard-cover artbook, eight Nightfarer cards, and a 25 cm Wylder Nightfarer Statue.
There's also a Wylder character helmet that will also be available in a 1:1 scale, prop-quality replica. This collectible is limited to just 9999 pieces, and includes a certificate of authenticity. The Wylder helmet is currently available for pre-order and will be delivered by launch, but does not include a copy of the game.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test kicks off this weekend with invite codes already sent out. However, previews from the media who got early access to the test have begun to be posted online. Are you excited for Elden Ring: Nightreign?
