Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is set to release in just a few hours on September 3rd. Ahead of its launch this week Warner Bros. Games shared a cinematic trailer to prepare for the match.
The 30-second trailer is less about showing off gameplay and revealing details, and more about hyping the first-ever Harry Potter game that focuses solely on the magical sport introduced in the books and shown off in the movies.
Developed by Unbroken Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions lets players immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Quidditch. Whether playing solo, with friends online in co-op, or competing against other players, players will experience the rush of the world's most magical sport.
Unbroken Studios has already released a gameplay walkthrough trailer. So for those unfamiliar with what this game offers, be sure to check it out below! As a quick summary, it's just about everything Harry Potter fans would want from a game that focuses solely on the sport. Imagine a Madden NFL or a EA Sports FC, but with Quidditch instead.
The game features all of the same roles and rules from the books. Classic Quidditch positions like Chaser, Seeker, Beater, and Keeper are all offered as playable positions, and each with their own unique playstyle.
The game features an in-depth career mode where you can interact with and play with fan-favorite characters from the books and movies. Once you play through a tutorial, you can begin your path to becoming a champion, competing in three additional cups that are playable either solo or cooperatively with up to three players online.
From the annual Quidditch House Cup, where you'll choose a House to represent and play alongside famous players like Cedric Diggory, Draco Malfoy, and even Harry Potter himself. From there, you'll compete at the school level in the Triwizard Schools Quidditch Cup and eventually the Quidditch World Cup. Career mode is a bit of an RPG because as you progress through Quidditch Champions, you'll earn skill points that you can use to boost certain stats.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be available starting Tuesday, September 3rd on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) for the Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions. A Physical Deluxe Edition will be available for PlayStation and Xbox consoles on November 8th with a Nintendo Switch edition coming this holiday season. The game is also going to be free for PlayStation Plus members throughout the month of September.
