Aragami is a stealth game developed by Spain based independent studio Lince Works and published by Merge Games. The game originally released on the PlayStation 4 and Steam in October of 2016 and was ported to the Xbox One in May of this year.
The Nintendo Switch would also get a version of
Aragami in the form of
Aragami: Shadow Edition, which includes the Nightfall expnsion, as well as full cross-platform co-op mode. The Nintendo Switch version was announced back in August but Lince Works did not provide a specific release date; stating that the game would come out at some point before the end of the year.
Today, Lince Works has announced that
Aragami: Shadow Edition for the Nintendo Switch will not be releasing in 2018 at all, since the date has been pushed back to the early months of 2019, although we still haven't been given an official release date. The reasoning behind the delay has to do with the developers wanting to offer a polished version of the game, so they basically need more time to make the game meet the players' expectations.
In a press release, the game's director David Leon referred to the delay, and his statement reads as follows:
"The work done by our porting partners, Stage Clear, so far has been truly fantastic. But we all agree that with more time for testing and polishing we could ensure a much more solid experience. We’re in no rush so it’s best we just move our release by a couple of months. Plus, most of you are all still busy playing that new cowboy game anyway. :P"
Aragami is a stealth game in which you play as an undead assassin with the power to control the shadows who is summoned back from the grave by a mysterious spirit named Yamiko. Between him and the answers to his fate lies the Kaiho - The Army of Light - who guard Yamiko inside their heavily fortified citadel of Kyûryu.
Aragami is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
