Patrice Desilets, former creative director on the first few
Assassin’s Creed games, will return his ape-based survival game
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. It's his first major project since 2009 when he left Ubisoft. For two years at THQ Montreal, Désilets was working on a new project titled
1666 Amsterdam, leading a team of close to fifty developers until THQ's unfortunate bankruptcy.
On December 14, 2014, Patrice Désilets with his team launched a new game development studio in Montreal, Panache Digital Games.
Ancestors will be their first game released by Take-Two Interactive, home to the
BioShock, Borderlands and Rockstar Games’
Grand Theft Auto and
Red Dead Redemption series, new publishing label focused on games from independent developers called Private Division.
"
I do third-person games,” Desilets told Games Industry a while ago. “
I don’t do VR. I do Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia type of games, and my next 15 games will be in the same vein – if I don’t die in the meantime.” There was no news about a release date but it seems very unlikely
Ancestors will be released this year, but you can still check out four wonderful screenshots from the unique game below:
