CD Projekt Red's The Witcher empire is rapidly expanding, as the main series' spin-off titled Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, is launching in two weeks on PC and in December on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The developer is regularly releasing new video guides and walkthroughs to help players understand what this particular Witcher Tale is all about as the first reviews should hit the web soon.
The studio just released a brand new 37-minute gameplay walkthrough that spotlights the upcoming game. In case you're unfamiliar with Thronebreaker, it's a single player RPG game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Think about The Banner Saga mixed with the Gwent mechanics set in The Witcher world.
The extended video is focused on exploring the map, traversing vast lands, managing resources and developing units in your very own, customizable battle camp, and finally fighting one nasty boss that is represented by different cards that create one strong entity, something we haven't seen in a card game yet. Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will release on PC via GOG.com on October 23rd, with a console release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 set for December 4th.
