The upcoming
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1&2 will feature a bunch of new interesting content like concept art, music player, a prologue movie to
Mega Man X, and a brand new
Challenge Mode; without forgetting about all 8 titles in the series.
This new Challenge Modw will feature 27 stages, as well as a Story Mode—that will likely keep things interesting for fans of the
Mega Man X series, and a brand new armour based off X's Ultimate armour from
Mega Man X4. The news comes from
Rockman Corner who translated an article from Famitsu, as well as a tweet by Twitter user
黒凧BlackKite.
According to the description, X will be wearing a brand new blue armour that is exclusive to
X Challenge. In this mode players will be able to choose from up to 3 special weapons from 9 available—from
Mega Man X titles
X1-
X6, and other very interesting details that can also be found on the official
Capcom Japan Mega Man X site. Check it out:
-X wears a brand new white and blue armor exclusive to X Challenge. Though it's based on the Ultimate Armor, it's purportedly different enough to be considered new. No specifics available at this time.
-You can choose up to 3 Special Weapons from 9 available to take into battle. You cannot change your set until you've cleared an area. Special Weapons are from X1-X6.
-There are a total of 27 stages.
- Difficulty levels determine the strengths of Mavericks, if your health replenishes into the next stage, and whether or not your remaining time carries over.
- X Challenge Volume 1 (X Legacy Collection 1) and X Challenge Volume 2 (X Legacy Collection 2) have different stages.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection contains side-scrolling classics Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, Mega Man X3, and Mega Man X4.
