Dontnod, the same studio that brought us the critically praised
Life is Strange, is currently working on their newest psychological thriller;
Twin Mirror. The game was announced during this year's E3 and the teaser trailer for it was a rather intriguing one—which is exactly the tone they're actually going for.
In
Twin Mirror, players will take control of Sam, a man who after being away from home for a long time, is dragged back to his hometown following the death of a friend. It is then when he finds himself seemingly involved in a crime he remembers absolutely nothing about.
The game will have players embarking on a journey to investigate what's happened, keeping in mind that every choice they make will dictate Sam's future. Much like the teaser suggests, it is a psychological thriller that promises to have gamers on the edge of their seats.
Today, Dontnod has shared a tweet in which they announce that we will finally be able to see some gameplay for
Twin Mirror on the 21st of August. Chances are that the game will be played in a similar fashion to
Life is Strange, which is also a game in which the player's choice matters as the story unfolds.
The death of a friend. A broken heart. A hometown that’s no longer home. With no memory of the night before and an ominously bloody shirt as his only clue, it’s time for Sam to find the truth.
Twin Mirror will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
