We Happy Few released in Early Access in July 2016, but thanks to Microsoft's E3 conference, we now know that the game will release in-full on the 10th of August.
For those unfamiliar with the intriguing game, here's a brief synopsis:
It is a tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retro-futuristic city in an alternative 1960s England, players will have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.
What is arguably bigger news than We Happy Few's release date is that; Microsoft announced during their Xbox presentation that they have officially acquired Compulsion Games - the studio behind We Happy Few and 2013's Contrast - as well as Undead Labs, Playground Games, and Ninja Theory.
While we don't know specifics about what this acquisition means for their future projects, we can hazard that they will most likely be exclusively released on Xbox and/or PC.
