The
Call of Cthulhu videogame was just announced during this E3 and released a mysterious and unsettling trailer. In the game, players take control of private investigator Edward Pierce who is sent to investigate an imposing mansion and uncover the secrets of a tragic death in the Hawkins family. The story takes place in 1924, where Pierce is plunged into a world full of secrets, cultists, and cosmic horrors.
The game also seems to focus heavily on the character's mental sanity, which makes for an interesting psychological horror that will have players on the edge of their seats—where they'll see Edward Pierce's mind suffering as his sanity is put to a test. The trailer captures that sense of dread and mystery perfectly, especially given the unsettling 1920s Boston atmosphere—which sure looks like a game that players will look forward to playing.
