Deadhaus Sonata is a new action-RPG title that's being developed at Denis Dyack's Apocalypse studio. Dyack is the former president and founder of Silicon Knights, developer that gave us
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and
Too Human. Dyack was most recently linked to
Shadows of the Eternal, an
Eternal Darkness spiritual sequel that failed to meet its Kickstarter goal.
The recently announced title will be a free-2-play game that will debut on PC and all major platforms (probably PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and maybe even Nintendo Switch). According to Dyack, it will blend the best of what he’s done before. "
There are Lovecraftian overtones from Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, the gothic role-playing elements of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, where you are undead, and finally, some the action RPG elements of Too Human,” Dyack explained in an interview with IGN.
Deadhaus will feature cooperative multiplayer, allowing you to explore some Gothic/Lovecraftian landscapes. Apocalypse is designing Deadhaus as a game-as-a-service title that will be supported long after the title launches.
Deadhaus Sonata is also using Amazon’s Lumberyard game technology and is still in the very early stages of development. Take a look at
Sonata's creepy teaser trailer below:
Eternal Darkness, Legacy of Kain, and Too Human creator Denis Dyack is back with a creepy new action-RPG called Deadhaus Sonata.
