Granblue Fantasy is a role-playing game developed by Cygames that released in Japan for iOS and Android devices in 2014. Back in 2018, the developer announced that they were teaming up with Arc System Works to make a 2D fighting game based on the
Granblue Fantasy universe.
Arc System Works is well known for their
Guilty Gear and
BlazBlue series of 2D fighting games, and have become even more well-known after they also developed the critically acclaimed
Dragon Ball FighterZ; making them the perfect studio to develop
Granblue Fantasy: Versus.
Just in November of last year we found out that the game was going to be localised here in the West, and just recently we have finally been given an official release date for this brand-new 2D fighting title — which will see
Granblue Fantasy: Versus releasing for the PlayStation 4 on the
3rd of March.
With the announcement that
Grandblue Fantasy: Versus is finally releasing in March, we also got a gameplay trailer that introduced us to some of the characters that will be part of the game's roster, and also shows off the beautifully polished 2.5D graphics Arc System Works is so well-known for.
