Capcom has just announced that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have the chance to play a
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta in the coming days — ahead of the expansion's release on the
6th of September.
According to the information revealed by the developer, the
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta will be available for PlayStation 4 users on Friday the
30th of August throughout the 1st of September, while Xbox One players will have access to the beta on the
1st of September throughout the 4th of September.
Capcom has also revealed that players will be able to hunt Elder Dragon Velkhana, and that there is no limit on the number of play sessions for the beta. An online is also required to participate in the beta, although any progress made during a gameplay session will not be saved; including character's name, appearance, and equipment.
Players who manage to complete the
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta will be rewarded with a Commendation Pack, which players will be able to claim in the full version of the game.
Velkhana isn't the only monster that will be available for players to hunt in the beta, however, as the Great Jagras, the Big-horned Banbaro, and Wild Tigrex quests — all quests that were available in the previous beta — will also be available; each granting players different commendation packs.
