Skarlet is one of seven characters confirmed for
Mortal Kombat 11 thus far and it appears she'll be getting a pretty sweet skin. Unfortunately, it was announced to be region-exclusive for Russia.
During a
Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event that was hosted in Moscow, Russia, it was announced that the country's special edition of the fighting game will come with the sweet-looking "Kold War Skarlet" costume, featuring the blood-draining warrior dressed in a Soviet military officer's uniform.
At this point, the Kold War Skarlet skin appears to be exclusive to Russia, but there's hope NetherRealm will release it in the west at some point. If that does end up being the case, we can expect to see it released as part of some sort of DLC.
Mortal Kombat X, for instance, came out with a
Kold War Pack that featured similar-themed skins for its characters (Motherland Sonya, Tundra Sub-Zero and Revolution Kano).
Pre-order and special edition exclusives are nothing new to the industry, but tying DLC to exclusive regions isn't exactly a good way to win over fans, especially if it ends up releasing as part of a DLC pack in the future anyway.
