Warner Bros. Games and developer NetherRealm Studios have shared the official gameplay trailer for the T-1000 in Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns. The T-1000 Terminator -- the sixth and final DLC character part of the Khaos Reigns expansion -- is set to arrive in the game on March 18th  as part  of Early Access for expansion owners.

With just one week to go until his in-game debut, the trailer highlights his impressive and deadly moveset, which features plenty of references to the Terminator 2 movie. For those unfamiliar with his source material, the T-1000 is the main antagonist in Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800, the T-1000 is an advanced prototype, comprised of mimetic polyalloy (aka liqui metal). This allows the T-1000 to shapeshift into objects and even people it comes in contact with, mimicking their appearance, behavior, and voice.

"Battling for the supremacy of machines, the T-1000 is a state-of-the-art infiltration Terminator designed by artificial general superintelligence system Skynet," NetherRealm teases. "With its superior intelligence and metamorphic capabilities, the T-1000 is an efficient fighter that embodies the ultimate evolution of assassination technology."

Its deadly efficiency is on full display in the gameplay video. The official T-1000 gameplay trailer highlights its sophisticated moveset, which heavily revovles around transforming its body parts into various deadly bladed weapons.

The trailer also shows off the T-1000's Fatality, which borrows heavily from the Terminator 2 movie. The finishing move features three references to the film: the finger wagging bladed eye poke, the bladed arm through the mouth, and the bladed elevator part (only through a torso instead of elevator doors).

Its Animality, another finishing move, features another reference to the film as the T-1000 transforms into a K-9 German Shepher. In the movie, John Connor's foster parents own a German Shepherd named max. The Terminator calls the dog Wolfie to trick the T-1000.

The T-1000 will be available in Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns beginning March 18th as part of the early access period for expansion owners. The character will be available for purchase separately on March 25th.

The T-1000 is the sixth and final character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, which featured Mortal Kombat veterans Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot, along with guest characters Ghostface (from Scream) and Conan the Barbarian (featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness). The T-1000 features the voices and likeness of actor Robert Patrick, who brought the character to life on the big screen on Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

WIth the Khaos Reigns expansion concluding this month, it will be interesting to see what comes next for the game. Will NetherRealm reveal another expansion or will they move on to the next game in the franchise?
