Mortal Kombat 11's roster reveal continued today as NetherRealm announced during its stream in Brazil that original character, Kano, will be featured as a playable fighter in the game. He is the ninth character to be announced for the game.
A calculating mercenary and a member of the Black Dragon crime organization, Kano has long been considered a nemesis of Sonya Blade and Jax Briggs. Sony has already been confirmed as returning in
Mortal Kombat 11 and will be voiced by Ronda Rousey.
Kano's announcement comes a few weeks after
Mortal Kombat 11's livestream event, which revealed a total of 25 character slots. Only eight of them were actually
revealed at the time: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Raiden, Shao Kahn, and Geras. Shao Kahn is a pre-order bonus character, while Geras is a series newcomer who wields the power to manipulate time.
Kano is one of the franchise's original fighters, having first appeared in the original 1992 game. He was also featured in
Mortal Kombat X.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release on April 23 for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Pre-ordering the game will not only unlock Shao Kahn, but also access to the beta which begins on March 28.
