Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath was released last week for home consoles and PC, bringing with it some new content and a new campaign for players to sink their teeth into, and know what happened after the events of the base game.
We have some disappointing news for Nintendo Switch owners who are looking forward to purchasing the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection on the 16th of June.
First things first, it is worth mentioning that Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is only an expansion for the base game, and not the definitive edition of Mortal Kombat 11. For this reason, the Aftermath expansion does not include characters added via the Kombat Pack 1, only the content that was released last week.
Mortal Kombat 11; Aftermath Kollection, on the other hand, does include all of the previously released content plus the recently released expansion, and it has just been revealed that the physical copy of this specific version, for the Nintendo Switch, will not be including the game card, but a voucher in its stead.
This information comes from Amazon, actually, in which we can see that the cover for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection clearly reveals that the game card is not included, and that players will require a microSD card to download the game; even worse news for those who don't own a microSD card — which, by the way, aren't cheap.
This is not the first time physical copies of Nintendo Switch games don't come with the game card, which is very disappointing, since the only reason players purchase physical games is to own them forever. Once the Nintendo Switch eShop shuts down there's now way for players to redownload these games; making the whole situation not only disappointing, but also frustrating.
On May 26th the epic saga continues with Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath! This new entry expands the critically acclaimed story campaign of Mortal Kombat 11 with an all-new cinematic narrative centered around trust and deceit. Joining the fight will be Mortal Kombat alumni, Fujin and Sheeva, and guest character, RoboCop, making his series debut!
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
