Sony has released an all-new sneak peek for NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Mortal Kombat 11, focusing on one of the biggest and most recognizable characters in the long-running series – Raiden. As a reminder, the game's reveal trailer showcased Raiden's uneven battle against two equally deadly Scorpions that didn’t end well for the electrifying hero.

While the vastly popular eternal God of Thunder already looks quite good in the aforementioned teaser, you won't be forced to use that exact model in-game, as the Chicago-based studio has taken a closer look at their latest game, Injustice 2, and its advanced customization system, bringing it to Mortal Kombat 11, with clothes, accessories, and even move sets never seen in a MK game before.

So far, NetherRealm has confirmed that players will have a chance to battle their friends and strangers online as Baraka, D'Vorah, Geras, Jade, Kabal, Kano, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, and obviously the one and only Raiden. Be sure to take a closer look at the hero, who was one of the original seven playable characters in 1992's Mortal Kombat, and his new in-game model below:

Mortal Kombat is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise. The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 23rd of April; Nintendo Switch version will release on the 10th of May.
