SNK announced in October of last year that they would be bringing back Samurai Shodown, their acclaimed sword-fighting series, after over a decade since the last game saw the light of day.

Samurai Shodown has already been confirmed not to be a sequel to Samurai Shodown V, but a complete series' reboot that will see all of the original characters making a comeback while also introducing few new characters to keep things fresh.

The beautiful art-style that SNK chose for the new Samurai Shodown is also something that stands out, and for all the right reasons; giving the game a very anime-looking style that makes every character and every stage pop.

In order to get fans even more excited for Samurai Shodown, SNK has decided to release an action-packed trailer that introduces us to Nakoruru, who is actually making a comeback as one of the few characters that have been in every game since the Neo Geo era.

Check it out:

After more than a decade, Samurai Shodown is back! SNK is rebooting one of its most successful series, carrying on the legacy of past titles with a new game that retains the same thrilling battles of past titles in a graphically advanced package.

Samurai Shodown will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in June of 2019.
