SNK has some great news for fans of the popular sword-fighting series Samurai Shodown, as the developer reveals that the latest entry in the series, simply called Samurai Shodown, will also be making its way onto the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
This is definitely a pleasant surprise, as it will give Xbox Series X/S players the chance to try this game out shortly after the console launches. Unfortunately, SNK doesn't reveal an official release date, but they do reassure that Samurai Shodown will be available at some point this Winter.
Samurai Shodown was initially announced during the 2018 Tokyo Game Show, and was released in June of last year for the PlaYStation 4 and Xbox One — with the Nintendo Switch and PC finally launching this year — and it is some sort of a soft reboot for the Samurai Shodown series.
Upon release, SNK's new entry in the long-running sword-fighting video game series was met with nothing but praise from critics and fans of the series — which isn't surprising, considering that SNK's strong suit are fighting games, and all titles in the Samurai Shodown series excell in this particular regard.
What's more, SNK has made sure to keep players coming back to the game., as new content is still being released for Samurai Shodown, and seeing it making the jump to next-gen consoles is definitely a great sign for the future of the game, and the series as a whole.
