Bandai Namco's
SoulCalibur VI is only a bit over a week away from releasing and will see the series making a comeback after being on hiatus since
SoulCalibur V came out in 2012.
Unlike
SoulCalibur V, though,
SoulCalibur VI will be taking things back to the series' roots as the game is a re-telling/reboot that takes place during and after the events of
Soul Edge(1995). The reason for this is because the developers never really thought they did a good job telling the story in
SoulCalibur(1998), so they are rebooting the series from then on.
There are a bunch of more interesting details regarding the origins of the
SoulCalibur series, and Bandai Namco just has released the first part of a new documentary titled
Swords and Souls: The Rise of Soulcalibur. This documentary explores the very origins of the series, and its growth in the worldwide community, as they welcome players to the New Stage of History.
Take a look:
SOULCALIBUR VI represents the latest entry in the premier weapons-based, head-to-head fighting series and continues the epic struggle of warriors searching for the legendary Soul Swords. Taking place in the 16th century, revisit the events of the original SOULCALIBUR to uncover hidden truths.
SoulCalibur VI will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on the 19th of October.
