SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE Leads The EVO 2019 Registrant Scoreboard So Far
Registration for EVO 2019 ends in just a few months and there's a chance that the new Super Smash Bros. game could have the most participants and largest prize pool.
Continuing his yearly April tradition, EVO co-founder Joey Cuellar has revealed the rank of EVO 2019 registration entries for the 9 playable games at this year's tournament. Surprisingly, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is #1, while last year's top game, Dragon Ball FighterZ has fallen all the way to #6.
The new Mortal Kombat game is currently at the #4 spot but could rise following a successful Stress Test Beta and the reveal of more fighters. Check out the full list below.
Evo 2019 will take place August 2-4, 2019 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Registration ends July 14, 2019, 11:59PM PDT. Prize money for each game is split is 60/20/10/4/2/2/1/1 for the top finalists.
Exactly $10 USD from each registrant for a particular game goes into that tournament's prize pool. Meaning if 300 people register for MK 11, that game's tournament will have a prize pool of $3,000 (300x$10) with 60% of that ($1,800) going to the grand winner.
As mentioned above, last year, Dragon Ball FighterZ was the game that had the most entrants at EVO and had a prize pool of $25,790, awarding $15,474 to the first place finisher, SonicFox.
