Last week,
Bandai Namco released the first part of a new documentary ahead of SoulCalibur VI's release, which is finally coming out this Friday for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The series has been on hiatus pretty much since
SoulCalibur V released for consoles back in January of 2012. What makes
SoulCalibur VI different, however, is the fact that it comes as somewhat of a soft reboot to the series—taking players back to the events of the first
SoulCalibur, right after the ending of
Soul Edge.
While the gameplay elements have remained intact,
SoulCalibur VI will mark a new beginning for the series; bringing back some of the most iconic, and classic characters the series has seen since the very beginning.
Today, Bandai Namco has released the second part of their Swords and Souls documentary, which tells us a little bit more about the series' early beginnings, what has remained pretty much untouched over the years, what
SoulCalibur VI is bringing back to the series, and the competitive side of
SoulCalibur as a franchise.
Take a look:
SOULCALIBUR VI represents the latest entry in the premier weapons-based, head-to-head fighting series and continues the epic struggle of warriors searching for the legendary Soul Swords. Taking place in the 16th century, revisit the events of the original SOULCALIBUR to uncover hidden truths.
SoulCalibur VI will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on the 19th of October.
