In November of this year, Capcom announced
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, a revised version of their latest intro in the long-running
Street Fighter series; revealing that new characters like
Street Fighter III: New Generation's main villain Gill will also be joining the game's roster.
As if the announcement that Gill will soon become available for players to play as in
Street Figther V: Arcade Edition — keeping in mind that Gill releases at some point this month and
Champion Edition releases in February — Capcom has revealed that
Street Fighter IV's main antagonist Seth will also be joining the game's roster.
Unlike Gill, however, Seth will not be releasing in December, as Capcom revealed that the master move mimicker wil actually become available on the
14th of February; when
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition officially releases.
Perhpas what will be the most talked-about topic about Capcom's surprise announcement will be the fact that Seth is now being portrayed as a woman; sure, Seth was never a man per se, but it is still an interesting change to make to a character completely out of the blue.
For those purists who like Seth's original form, Capcom also revealed that they will be giving the character some new outfits — with these including a Summer, Battle, Story, and Nostalgia costumes; the latter giving fans the character's classic look from
Street Fighter IV.
With the announcement, Capcom also released an action-packed character trailer that gives us a good look at some of Seth's new, and powerful moveset, so be sure to check the trailer out down below and let us know what you think!
