Alien: Isolation was one of the most unique games of this generation of consoles, but despite the fantastic reception from critics and players alike, it has failed to live up to Sega's sales expectations. Since its release, FoxNext Games (a part of the Fox entertainment empire and the owner of the Alien rights) has acquired Cold Iron Studios to produce a "triple A" Alien shooter for consoles and PC.
But the story presented in Isolation will carry on as Dark Horse has announced Aliens: Resistance, "a new four-part series written by Bryan Wood, with art by Robert Carey, colors by Dan Jackson, and lettering by Nate Piekos." It will pick up with Amanda, telling a new chapter in her story. In the Alien lore, Amanda it Ripley's child, the main hero of four Alien movies released between 1979 and 1997.
In Alien: Resistance, "Ripley is kept silent by Weyland-Yutani now that the xenomorph threat has been brought to light. But when Zula Hendricks, the Ex-Colonial Marine from Aliens: Defiance, arrives in need of Ripley’s help to expose a sinister bio-weapons program, the duo teams up to lead a resistance against an upgraded arsenal designed to keep the darkest atrocities secret!"
The first issue of Aliens: Resistance will hit the stores soon, on January 23, 2019, and you check out the cover, drawn by Robert De La Torre (The Death of Captain America, Thunderbolts) below:
