While this year's Call of Duty has ditched single-player, the series' direct competition is sticking with it as the upcoming Battlefield V will offer players the single-players campaign. This mode will be similar to the one from Battlefield 1, taking you on a journey around the world in war as part of The War Stories, DICE's approach to showing elements of World War II that you haven’t seen in other games.

Just like in the last Battlefield game, Battlefield V will tell various World War 2-themed stories from the perspective of multiple characters, including a young resistance fighter who carries a weight greater than her weapons and ammo during the German occupation of Norway or a soldier who tries to save his unit during the German assault in Northern Africa in a post-launch final episode, The Last Tiger.

Electronic Arts just released a brand new Battlefield V trailer that focuses solely on the story mode. It's safe to say that the trailer itself is pretty spectacular, featuring Mark Strong’s voice-over and beautiful, detailed vistas. The campaign modes are usually the worst parts of Battlefield games, so it will be fascinating to see if DICE will manage to fill the void created this year by COD: Black Ops 4. Take a look:

Enter mankind’s greatest conflict with Battlefield V as the series goes back to its roots with a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2. Lead your squad to victory with new ways to turn the battlefield to your advantage. Assemble your Company of customized soldiers, weapons, and vehicles – then take them on an epic journey through the Tides of War. Experience the most intense, immersive Battlefield yet. You will never be the same.

Battlefield V launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin on November 20, 2018.
