Activision has finally released the first statistics regarding
Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII's sales. According to the report, Treyarch’s
Black Ops IIII has sold more than $500 million in sell-through worldwide in its first three days of release. That's not all, as
Black Ops IIII set a new franchise record for most combined players, average hours per player and total number of hours played, on current generation consoles.
To compare this year's
Black Ops with the rest of the series, the first
Black Ops sold 5.6 million copies in 24 hours back in 2010, generating $360 million in just one day. The sequel earned even more, $500 million during the launch day two years later, and the third installment earned $500 in its first three day on the global market, which means that the single-player less
Black Ops IIII may be the series’ low.
Naturally, the series' low doesn't mean that Activision Blizzard will change the course of the series as the title still made the same figure as last year's
Call of Duty: WWII. Considering that
Black Ops IIII features the praised Battle Royale mode that rivals
PUBG and
Fortnite, this year's
Call of Duty will likely earn more than the previous titles thanks to the game as a serve approach and post-launch support.
Black Ops is back! Featuring gritty, grounded, fluid Multiplayer combat, the biggest Zombies offering ever with three full undead adventures at launch, and Blackout, where the universe of Black Ops comes to life in one massive battle royale experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
