Tag der Toten will be releasing alongside Operation Dark Divide on September 23rd. Translated from German to English, it means: Day of the Dead. It's a nice nod to George Romero's cinematic classic of the same name.
That's particularly fitting as Tag der Toten will be a remake of a Zombies map from
Call of Duty: Black Ops by the name of Call of the Dead — which notably included Romero as a powerful boss zombie.
As well, Tag der Toten will supposedly be the final map to take place within the Aether storyline — that's the story of Edward Richtofen, Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, Samantha Maxis, and the like.
Treyarch has released both a story and gameplay trailer for the forthcoming Zombies experience, ahead of its proper release. The trailers notably include the return of the Victis crew from
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 — who are better known as Misty, Marlton, Russman, and Stuhlinger. Those four will be the characters you play as in Tag der Toten.
